The Booster Incubator Program is a series of one-week, cross-disciplinary artist residencies designed for dancers, movement artists, choreographers, and photographers who want to deepen their practice through collaboration, experimentation, and place-based creation.

Each residency offers studio space, mentorship, technical support, and a final public showing, creating space for artists to research, take risks, and generate new work together.

The Incubator Program is committed to accessibility. Tuition is significantly reduced to support emerging, pre-professional, and professional artists who may face financial barriers but are ready to invest time, energy, and care into their artistic growth.

the residencies emphasize

Nature & Place Using the Kootenay landscapes as inspiration and backdrop.

Experimentation

Showcasing & Sharing – Culminating in a final performance/exhibition for the Nelson community.

Option to collaborate across disciplines: Dancers and photographers are invited (but not required) to engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration if it feels supportive to their practice, while those who prefer to work independently are equally encouraged.
